The new(ish) variable heat pumps / air conditioners require more sophisticated thermostat control to properly use their variable output capabilities. However, most that I have looked at (Trane RunTru, Mitsubishi, etc.) use proprietary thermostats, which is understandable, but they are also cloud connected, which is nothing that I want.
Is anyone familiar with variable speed thermostats for heat pump systems which are not cloud connected, or at least fully functional when not cloud connected? Big bonus points if they’re accessible from/to Home Assistant without any cloud connections.
Thanks!
Stumbled on this link: How to integrate a Mitsubishi Airco into my Home Assistant? which goes into the topic pretty well.
