Cloud text to speech suddenly stopped working

I had a Voice Preview set up and working fine, using Home Assistant Cloud speech to text, text to speech, and OpenAI.

Suddenly it now doesn’t understand anything said. The debug logs for the voice assistant often show nothing, and sometimes show just “.” as the text.

The wake word does work.

If I access the assistant directly in Home Assistant (press A), I can type in a question and it works fine.

Based on this, my assumption is that the issue is with speech to text - which is provided by Home Assistant Cloud (which reports all services operational).

I’m not sure what the next troubleshooting step is. I do have the Wyoming Protocol integration installed, and changing the speech to text engine to Whisper does not help. However, I never had this set up previously so I am not sure if it is set up right (I don’t think I configured anything, just added the integration).

Any tips on what to try next (yes, I’ve tried restarting Home Assistant).

I have Home Assistant OS installed on a Raspberry Pi 4.

Two days after it stopped working it just… started working again?

I am not sure what was wrong but it seems to be working now.

Hopefully that’s what happens for me.

I have had Home Assistant runnning for a bit over a month in Docker on a Raspberry Pi5, pretty much from the start I setup Text-to-speech announcements in the evening when exterior doors are open. They come from a couple of Google Home devices, one with a display downstairs, and a Google Home Mini upstairs. About 2 days ago, the Mini stopped playing Text to speech from Nabu Casa - it still makes the alert chime, and the other Home device downstairs is working as always, but the Mini isn’t playing the text to speech parts. Regular Google speech functions are still working on the Mini.

Volume is up, everything else is working fine, just the one device has gone mute.
