Hello Home Assistant Community,
I stumbled upon home assistant as I work in the IT department for a company that has numerous offices and was given the task of updating security, monitoring, and door access for the company.
We are looking to implement unifi cameras and door access but need an alarm system that will talk with the unifi door controllers. Our company requires central monitoring as well as smoke and co monitoring from a national security company as we have offices throughout the country and want to stick with one vendor.
I did see that that simplisafe integrates very well with home assistant which then talks nicely to unifi.
That being said simplisafe does NOT seem to be geared to commercial customers (i.e. numerous alarm codes) and I have heard some mixed reviews about it.
I would appreciate any feedback and advice!
I personally would be very nervous about integrating home assistant into a company infrastructure like security…
I’m not saying that Home assistant is pony with security, however they are open source, and I’m pretty sure it would not hold well with your cyber security insurance.
Roxy,
Thanks for the feedback! Any other suggestions on integrating unifi door control with an alarm system? The plan was to put it behind our Meraki firewall and have it segregated as much as possible.
Texecom is the only one that comes to mind, there are some integrations.
Thank you unfortunately they seem to be only in the UK. Still open to any alarm companies with central monitoring anyone can recommend.
