I know there has been some talk of re-flashing Chimerical Electric/HubSpace devices with ESPHome, but it appears that they used an efuse or some other method of making the devices read only.
That being said I got curious about LA-12A-C power strip and USB charger combo. After a few minutes of probing with a multimeter I was able to quite easily hack a Wemos D1 Mini into it and control the 4 smart outlets. It’s a mess and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else do it, but it doesn’t seem like it’d be that hard to make a 1:1 PCB to act as a drop in replacement. Might take a crack at that. But in the mean time I figured I’d share this project as is.
