Home Assistant Community Add-on: AirCast

Hi! I install a home assistant’s version without the hass.io panel where i can add third repository. I would install this add-on. is there a manual installation?

Hello! I recently installed AirCast and looking through the logs it appears to be working, but when I try to find it in my AirPlay options, nothing shows up. Any advice?

Log shows as follows:

Can you cast to your device without using this Aircast add-on? If not it may have something to do with this:

Yup no problems at all, and still not seeing the aircast devices :frowning:

What version of Hassio are you running?

I’m still on 0.71.0 and it is working as expected.

I got my Raspberry pi and installed it yesterday, so I assume latest as of yesterday (0.72.1?)

You can check the installed version by clicking on the ‘i’ in a circle button at the bottom of the left hand menu.

I’ll update to 0.72.1 later tonight and let you know how it goes.

This add-on does not interact with Home Assistant, so the version of Home Assistant doesn’t matter…

Well there goes that idea.

So, any other ideas?

Have you changed anything from default in the add-on configuration options?

Sorry for the delay in responding, was away for the holidays. I havent changed any defaults at all, nope

Hi Frenk,

Just installed. This seems like it would be a very clever solution to interoperability. However, I cannot get it working. Any ideas?

Guys, please use code blocks…
Secondly, use GitHub for reporting issues. Be sure to provide sufficient information (like the hardware used, OS used).

Hi Guys,

Thank you for sharing your time and experiences! This is exactly what I was looking for

I successfully installed Home Assistant and the AirCast plugin on a Raspberry PI2 yesterday. Google Home Minis clearly appear as airplay devices and I can easily stream to them - either individually, or grouped. However, I’m experiencing a delay, Google Homes are behind other Airplay speakers - is this something others have found/resolved?

Ryan

Running into the same issue here as well - keeps repeating ‘PROTINFO: Starting the Aircast Server’ - going to try out a few things.

Running RP3, HassOS 1.7

The issue is known, and tracked on GitHub. Still trying to find a solution for this one.

appreciate it!

This is to be expected and unfixable. The add-on acts as an bridge, so it has to receive, quite possibly transcode, and send it out again. This will alway introduce delay.
