I have the companion app set up as the only device tracker for myself and frequently, when I’m at home, it registers me as away (out of my ‘Home’ zone).
I set up a quick notification automation to notify me when this happens so I can track how often it is doing it and it is happening around 2-3 times per hour. Most often it reports me back ‘Home’ after a few seconds but sometimes it can be a few minutes which can be a pain when I have location and presence based automations.
I have full location permissions set on my iPhone, including ‘Precise Location’. I have also tried deleting and re-adding the server in the companion app a few times and the problem still persists.
I have checked the geocode location each time this happens and it identifies me as being on a road parallel to mine but around 300 metres away (My home zone is set up with a 80 metre radius).
I have even changed my iPhone IP to static on the router but this hasn’t helped.
Anyone have any ideas? Is this the companion app or my phone identifying my location incorrectly? How can I resolve it?
