I am using the sonoff water valve on a timing via HA (and to als obe able to turn it on from the panel) to control my garden irrigation but want to not run when it is raining or when the soil is already very wet.
I am testing the Third Reality and the Mcbazel. I think that the latter is often white-labelled as Tuya and some others. I need get a Haozee but considering the way it is made I felt that it would not be entirely waterproof in the rain or irrigation. So planing to send it back before it gets ruined.
I have two large flower troughs. So I put one pair of thirdreality and mcbazel in one trough and the other pair in the other. I did first test them all by putting them in a cup of water to give 100% and then drying them off - dropped to about 20% - with variations.
The live test currently shows:
Trough 1
Thirdreality 52.99%
Mcbazel 62.0%
Trough 2
Thirdreality 48.04%
Mcbazel 57.0%
One Mcbazel did drop out briefly this morning but is now back.
I am not too bothered about some inaccuracy as I just want to recognise a high moisture to shut off the irrigation in the automation - so over 80% (or other suggesstions you may have).
Please can I hear your experiences or comments
