zigbee2MQTT 2.6.2-1

At 16:58 today all devices stopped working.

A full pc reboot has not resolved the issue.

Any ideas anyone?

It ran for nearly 24 hours before this collapse.

Hello Michael Horton,

What is your coordinator hardware? Guessing, looks like maybe an Ethernet device?

Sonoff dongle P on usb

Can you show us the Zigbee network map from the Z2M front-end?

Unfortunately the map never builds it just spins forever since the crash

Everything has been offline/ unresponsive since 16:58.

Restarts of zigbee2MQTT and hard reboots, ie total power down and power up

That explains the “no network route” error, but it’s a dead end.

Sanity check: Is your dongle securely attached to the USB port? Did you check if it came loose somehow?

I have disconnected and reconnected but will try again.

You might need to reboot after reconnecting it. I’ve never had to, but it’s a good thing to try.

Well, it seems to be happy with that, but I’m used to seeing something else when it’s a USB stick.

On the USB stick path, are you using an extension cable to get the stick away from the computer?

Yup

It was running great right up until 16:58, I was actually looking at devices when I noticed the constant stream of device chatter stop

There are posts with some troubleshooting steps in this section of the cookbook: The Home Assistant Cookbook - Index

Did any mains-powered device go offline for some reason? I’m having trouble understanding when Z2M returns that “no network route” error but it seems to be a Zigbee-mesh-level error.

What happens if you remove the device that’s reporting the error?

This is my 14th attempt to get zigbee2MQTT running.

I have used 4 different coordinators and three platforms, vm, Home Assistant green and now a massively overspecced micro pc

I have wiped and completely rebuilt from the ground up a dozen or so times.

But after 22 months of this I need to get a reliable zigbee back up and running.

Wi-Fi is on 1 & 6
zigbee2MQTT on 20
Hue on 25

I have moved WiFi from 11/6 to 1/6 w

zigbee2MQTT from 11 when WiFi was 11/6 to 20 with WiFi on 1/6

Hue has been solid on 25 for nearly 25 years, and only recently migrated 2nd hue hub into hue pro hub, that was on 20.

The hue hub had run on port 20 for 10 years without a single issue .

Only zigbee2MQTT on Home Assistant has been extremely flakey especially over the last 22 months.

Moved to Sonoff dongle p after smlights Poe coordinators and a Sonoff dongle max Poe coordinator

All devices are offline, none are communicating

Every single device is unresponsive

I can add devices, well I have added one device

I’ll try re-pairing one

Is there any chance you’re in an environment with a lot of electromagnetic interference on the Zigbee band? Have you tried changing channels?

Have you or someone nearby added a device that could be causing interference?

And… Hue has not been around for 25 years…

Wait, do you mean you have your new Hue hub on channel 20, the same channel as Z2M?

No the hue hub pro is on 25,

Last month I consolidated from two hue hubs on 20 and 25 to one pro on 25

Sorry mistype, 15 years.
I’ll give up on zigbee2MQTT on Home Assistant , 22 months of trying to get something that doesn’t just die or slowly hemorrhage 5 devices a day.

I’ll run a zigbee2MQTT up on a server that is one a huge ups and runs 24x7 and try it pushing the Home Assistant Mqtt

I’ve found Z2M extremely reliable, and I currently have two Hue hubs on separate channels in addition to my dongle (on a separate channel), and also run legacy WiFi. In an urban setting.

I wish I could help you figure out what the issue is on your end, but I’ve never even come close to that scale of problem. My only suggestion would be, if you have to start from scratch, build the mesh up slowly starting with mains devices nearest to the dongle. And give things time to settled between small incremental additions.

I hope you get yourself to a stable mesh.

Thanks, your input much appreciated.

I have given massive time and effort and resources.

I appreciated your is reliable, mine was until I moved to Home Assistant as soon as I used a zigbee2MQTT under Home Assistant it has been miserable.

I have tried it with 35 router devices all with a great signal and it still dies .

So I’ll go back to a standalone zigbee2MQTT and see if I can restore stability.

The only consistency here is zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant , every other combination has been attempted and I am frankly envious of others success.

But I have tested my better halves patience to the extreme, tomorrow I’ll drop in a Aqara hub and get all the blinds working along and leak sensors and stick on 15, then I’ll have them working everyday at least.

Obtw it is 13 years I have had Hue up and running, when I bought my first bulbs and hub in the Apple Store.

100 bulbs and 30 motion sensors that have been rock solid for nearly 5000 days of exceptional dependency.

I can’t go 24 hours without zigbee2MQTT failure under Home Assistant.

So I know how good zigbee network runs.

Just extremely disappointed, I bought into the dream
