Completely local no internet or router, asking for suggestions

HI to everyone,
I have just bought a garage away from home and I would like to make some automation like turning on lights when the gate opens, controlling outlets and so on…

I have no internet access, but I have plenty of raspberry…
any suggestion?
should I use RPI as AP and use homeassistant in the docker version?
I would like to connect my phone to the homeassitant when I approach the garage and maybe in future to open it automatically…

any suggestion is welcome… maybe someone has already had a similar situation…

thank you
Giuseppe

You need internet to set up HA, so you might have to do it in another place.
HAOS is not made to run the WiFi as an AP, so you will need another installation type.
You need internet to set the time on a Raspi, so you might have to do without absolute timing for automations, but since you are forced to run another installation type, then you are also open to install and implement a RTC module.
