Components for heating

Hi, I’m in the process of updating an existing heating system, and I want to make it controlling/monitoring friendly.

Here is what is given:

  • Gas boiler: Immergas Victrix Extra 28 (it has OpenTherm ports)
  • I have already ordered OTGW module from the nodo-shop
  • No thermostat yet - I’m open for suggestions
  • As for the individual rooms, I am planning to add Shelly BLU TRV thermostatic valves for controlling the radiators individually, and also for providing temperature reads for all rooms.

My question is, will this work? What thermostat would you suggest, if I plan to ignore the temperature measurement by the physical thermostat, and use a combined value (probably minimum value) from all my temperature readings from all the rooms?

What else should I be looking at?

Thank you.

Why should you use thermostat if you ignore it?

One of the reasons is avoiding having to calculate modulation and heating curves myself.
The thermostat can do the calculations for modulation based on “total” the temperature measurement I provide, which can be something like a weighted average of all the rooms…
