Conbee ii no longer works after RPI SSD add

I had some issues with a device today and like a (not smart person) decided to remove it from the core.device_registry file (becasue I could not remove it otherwise) and guess what? I NUKED my install.

Good thing I took a backup beforehand though I cannot find my SD card reader so decided to go to a SSD instead.
Installed ZHA and restored the backup. BUT now, ZHA is not working. Here are the errors I get:

Error setting up entry ConBee II - /dev/serial/by-id/usb-dresden_elektronik_ingenieurtechnik_GmbH_ConBee_II_DE2472984-if00, s/n: DE2472984 - dresden elektronik ingenieurtechnik GmbH - 1CF1:0030 for zha

I tried to use the radio migration keeping all the same settings but no luck. I also tried to shutdown ZHA, remove the stick for a minute and nothing. I moved the stick to another usb but NOTHING.

All my zigbee devices are offline. Can someone help?

Wow, just moved the Pi back to where it was originally (I had it on my desk while I was rebuilding the OS and re-importing the config).

Everything is back to normal now that the Pi is back to the original spot… Just weird!

Upgraded the Firmware on the stick which I never did before and now the problem is back. Must be something with the latest version of ZHA or something!, I will see how I can bring it back to a working state again!

Apparently this is a well know issue with RPI4 + USB3 HDD/SSD with an attached Conbee II. There is no solution but to buy a 2m USB extender cable for the Conbee which I had read about but never thought I would need. Now I do.

Issue will be resolved (Hopefully) once I get the USB extension cable.

I had a similar problem with a RaspBee II (which sits inside the RPI so can’t be moved). I needed a 2m cable to move the SSD away!

The 2m cable solved the same problem for me but with the RaspBee II
