I just bought a Conbee II with a USB extension cable, but when I check in terminal (hardware info), it’s not listed so I am not able to configure deCONZ.
I tried connecting to is on my Win 10 computer, and login to Phoscon, so I take it that the stick is not defective, and I was able to connect a Aotec Z Wave stick to the pi, so it’s not the USB ports either.
The Conbee shows up as a serial device, so I see nothing wrong there. That AMA0 device you have, if you unplug the Conbee, does it disappear? If you tell deCONZ to use it, does the addon not see it as a Conbee device?
It would be easier to just unplug all USB devices you arnt currently using (z-Wave, etc) taking note of every hardware device that shows up, then plugging in the Conbee and seeing what’s new.
Hmm, could be. I don’t use a Pi so that serial device isnt familiar to me. I do see that my Conbee II and Aeotec Z-Wave stick both show up as ttyACM[x], I don’t have any AMA type devices. But both the ZigBee and Z-Wave still report as “serial” in hardware info.
Since he said he was using a USB extension, I would hope it’s the conbee. I don’t even want to know how someone would manage to get the Raspbee to fit into a USB extension cable… (though I’m sure it’s happened at least once)
@Danzerino, What kind of install do you have? Is it HomeAssistant OS, or some other type of install?
Wow, I feel like an idiot - I was following a guide that said without the device attached you should see /dev/ttyAMA0 and that the conbee would show up as /dev/ttyACM0 - so this whole time I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out why ttyACM0 was not showing up.
I just configured deCONZ with ttyAMA0 as the device and wouldn’t you know, worked right away.
