Confused about whether to use HACs or native Miele integration

Hello

Just got my Miele washer and dryer today. Set up the app., registered, connected to wifi and all is good.

So of course I went to HA to see if there was an integration. I went to Add integrations, and there was a native Miele, so I installed it, both devices showed up in HA. Lots of entities supported for both washer and dryer. So far so good. (I’m having some problem though as doors are open and show closed, but that’s not my question.)

Then I read a few threads and find out that HAC’s has an integration also. And the developer says he is working with the Home Assistant team to make it a native integration. So I’m confused. Are they the same integration? Should I delete the native one and add the HACs one?

I see the HA 2025.9.4 update that dropped yesterday had an update to the Miele integration. And HACS has two listed, Miele and Miele integration. The HACS one plain named Miele was updated most recently (5 days ago).

If it were me, I’d reach out to the maintainer and ask them.

They are. They might not see it without an @ to them. I didn’t want to do it :slight_smile:

Well you can be certain they are on their own Repos,
I would absolutely ask there.

Use the one that’s comes with HA it’s getting the most maintenance.
