Hey - i wasnt sure where to put this so figured this was a good a place as any…
I watched this last week and having never used ai in any shape way or form ever i watched this last week and thought “well theres the first reason [for me] to want to use it [ai]”
I got everything working up to the point of connecting my ha to an external ai to start using it but, everyone that ive tried wants credit card details/and or payment of some sort…whereas the video states that its free…has anyone else used this and used/found out which ai was free…
He did state in it “just use the free one” which is the “free one” as thats so far eluded me…
Thanks as per usual if anyone can point me in the right direction…!
How old is the video?
You don’t provide a link to OpenCode - can’t find it in integrations, HACS or Apps - so presumably one needs a custom repository.
If it uses an API I would have expected some sort of registration and payment method to be required, even if there is a “free” tier to start with. “Free” just means they are using your data for training… 
Edit: It appears to be an app - if anyone is interested you have to add this repository to your App Store https://github.com/magnusoverli/opencode. I would use the GitHub installation instructions rather than a video.
OpenCode appears to write to your config - be careful!
The one he suggests in the video is Opencode Zen ( OpenCode Zen | A curated set of reliable optimized models for coding agents.
If you follow the link to Get Started you can create an account without adding a credit card which gives you access to free models only.
Thats brilliant - thanks very much (i must have missed that bit!) - ill go have a crack at it now.
Edit: Nah…just asks for payment to be set up…how do i bypass that??
Ah! - i got it once youve chosen the ai - then theres a /models then you can choose the free ones (theres a few to choose from) - chose the deep seek option. (let the chinese switch my lights on and off for me!)
