Connection lost, reconnecting

Hi everyone,

I have a problem since a couple of weeks, and I am very pissed of it.

Once a day, a get this annoying message who says : Connection lost, Reconnecting
conn

But it won’t reconnect by itself, I have to restart my Rpi4 and then it’s ok, until the next time…

I don’t have any problem with my wifi, and I just don’t see why it’s doing this

Is anyone already had the same issue here?

Hi Troon, I’m connected via wireless but I could plug the ethernet cable in if it’s a better way.

And yes I do have a static IP, is it possible that it could be the problem?

Since I’m only using Home Assistant for a couple of months, I don’t really know how to switch from wireless to wired connection. Do I have to change something in home assistant settings?

Maybe basics but:

  1. Can you still reach your rpi when it happens (e.g. with ssh)
  2. Is HA actually still running, then?

I’m not really familiar with SSH, but when it happens I can’t reach home assistant with Nabu Casa. Like if it’s offline.

I’ll go check some videos on YouTube and next time it happens I’ll give it a try with the SSH

And no, I don’t think Home Assistant is running, when I try to reach to it, I get an error on my internet page

Do you think if I connect an ethernet cable, it will fix the problem?

Well, if your RPI or HA crashes for some reason, a cable won’t help.
OTOH, if it’s the wifi that crashes on RPI, then yes, it’ll help
