Consumption in energy dashboard is different then in the device info

Hi everybody, I have the following issue:

The value of dashboard shows one value but the device info has a different value. Am I missing some configuration?

Energy board vs Device info

Thank you!

When you add a device to the Energy panel it starts tracking the energy used from that point on. If the device already used energy prior to that the energy panel won’t display it. In addition I don’t believe energy usage from the current hour is calculated until a little after the hour is finished.

EDIT: Looking further at your image I’m not even sure the two are on the same time scale. I don’t know if the device sensor is for today or the life of the device but I see the energy dashboard is showing only energy used today.

Thank you for your info. The device was not used previously (only a few minutes while testing and configuring - I don’t remember if the clamp was attached to some live wire - since it was some time ago when I bought the Shelly EM).

But you are right, although it was out of sync (energy dashboard vs device info) now if I select year it’s just ~4W out of sync. I installed the device in the fuse box yesterday and somehow they didn’t match.

And also I see that although I added a fixed rate for kWh it doesn’t calculate (still 0).

Thank you again.

If you recently added the static cost give HA an hour and it should show up. It will only calculate cost going forward from when you added the price since it doesn’t know what the price was before you entered it. If your issue is solved please mark it as solved. That helps us determine which issues are still open. Good luck! My setup has been very reliable and quite close to my electric companies calculations.

The price was added when it was configured, 1-2 days ago.

I don’t see any “solved” button. How do I do that?

Thank you.

L.E. I searched for the tick icon and I do not have it, some say that is based on trust level, and since I’m new on this forum… . The first issue is solved. The cost is not yet.

You could attempt to edit the static price. Failing that I recommend you start a new topic to reflect the cost problem. Maybe it will attract the eyes of someone that can help you . Otherwise I’m completely stumped. You put the price in and it just works… normally.

I tried to edit the price but with no success. I’ll create another topic, thanks.
