Control ACs remotely - continental Europe

Hello,

I have multiple DAIKIN AC units and I want to operate them in dry mode to humidify various appartments during winter time while they will be inoccupied. Unfortunately the manufacturer’s wifi module is not compatible with my AC units so I need another solution (IR blaster):

My main requirements are:

  • Communication with the device from my phone or computer via wi-fi
  • Communication between the device and the AC unit via IR emulating the remote control
  • Possibility to set schedules
  • Possibility to replicate the setup many times as I need to control about 14 units

“Good to have” features:

  • Possibility to set humidity setpoints to automatically turn off the AC when target is reached and turn it back on when another setpoint is reached

Solutions I have found so far:

  • tado AC control V3/V3+ - Link: around 90 EUR does not have humidity setpoints
  • Switchbot hub: Link Seems to have the possibility to set schedules and maybe the possibility to set humidity setpoints if a humidity sensor of the same brand is also connected to the device
  • Moes Wi-Fi Smart IR Remote Control :link: costs 25 EURs seems to have the ability to set humidity setpoints but not sure about the ability to set schedules
  • Sensibo (not sure but seems expensive)

It seems to me that the switchbot hub + switchbot humidity sensor is the best option (also quite cheap).

What are your thoughts? Are there any limitations I should know about?

Many thanks!

Can you add esp board in it? Check around maybe someone made an esp board or dongle to operate this things from home assistant.

Esp32-C3 + IR-LED cost about $2. What Daikin model is it about?
