Convert Wink power strip to mqtt

I just finished up retrofitting my Pivot power genius (Wink power strip) with an esp8266 running mqtt. Follow the guide here https://github.com/w1ll1am23/pivot_power_genius_mqtt

This converted the power strip to 100% local control mqtt and all functions of the power strip will continue to work (except the Wink integration of course)

Do you think ESPHome could be flashed onto it?

I don’t see why not, I am actually running tasmota on mine now.
