Cooper RF9540 Dimmer with RF9542-Z Accessory

Hello everyone,

I picked up a cooper RF9540-N and RF9542-Z dimmer pair for my family room recently. After performing the proper z-wave association, the dimmers work perfectly together physically (each one works, they stay in sync, etc).

I also am able to control the master dimmer (the 9540) through HA very well.

However-- the issue i still have is that, if I use HA to adjust the dimmer, ONLY the 9540 is adjusted. This gets the dimmers physically out of sync, which is pretty annoying. I was guessing that perhaps i had to put the two dimmers within a group or something in HA, but the accessory dimmer isn’t seen as a switch- only a sensor (even though it implements the multistate_switch command type).

Has anyone else used the RF9540-N and RF9542-Z together in HA before? Thanks!

I’m looking into these switches also since the Lutron Caseta switches aren’t implemented yet…

Does anyone have update on if these can work well with Home Assistant?

I have been able to get the On/Off state sync to work by setting param 10 to a value of 1 for the master
