Copy log files to Google Drive

My Home assistant keeps crashing but I frequently get there too late to have a look at the log files. I would like to copy these log files to my google drive instance. I already use the

Home Assistant Google Drive Backup

Add-on but I don’t believe I can use this for this purpose. Does anyone have a suggestion? I can’t use Samba as the HA is behind a firewall and I prefer not to open samba ports.

Can you clarify what you mean by too late? If you’re looking for the logs from before the most recent restart, you could look at the rollover log file (home-assistant.log.1).

I need to reboot it a couple of times and with updates, by the time I have the chance to look: they logs have cycled so much that the one with the crash is gone.

I would just like to keep them somewhere safe so I have more time to have a look at them plus can open in a better editor than VI

Select this option :

Then scroll backwards. All your logs are there.

I thought that “Show full logs” only displays the current log?

Going back to my original question, I would still like to find a way to automatically copy my logs to something like google drive. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do that?

It doesn’t only show the current log. Try it
