Coral USB not detected by HAOS - pi 5

Hello everyone,

I am trying to run frigate with the coral USB. My setup has worked for 2-3 years. Only recently, the coral cannot be detected by frigate anymore. I feel like this was around the time I had to switch to the frigate full access add on because proteciton mode needed to be disabled.

However, the problem seems to be a level deeper.

running lsusb in the HA host also does not show the coral being found as a USB device.

I have tried it with two different corals with their respective original cables. On my linux mint laptop, I do get an entry for both corals. I’d rule out them being both broken as a consequence.

I have tried different USB ports, USB 2 and 3.
I have tried a powered USB 2 and a powered USB 3 hub. Both also plugged into different USB ports of my pi 5.
I have also tried two different raspberry pi 5s.

Is there anything similar you guys have had in the past that could help me fix it?

Thank you for your time and merry Christmas.

edit: There seems to be a similar problem on github.
