Today (7 April 2026) I saw HAOS 17.2 update appeared, so I figured I’d do that then do the 2026.4.1 update. I shutdown, take my VM snapshot in Proxmox, boot up and do the 17.2 update. Works fine. Then I do the 2026.4.1 update in the GUI and it did not work. Tried several times, and did some restarts and full reboots. Attempting to install from command line, ha core update, said it was successful but it was not. Tried to specify version to update to also (first 2026.4.1 then just 2026.4.0) with same result. System still runs core 2026.3.4.
Free disk space is 11.8 GB. Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.
I’m having a similar issue, can’t update from 2026.3.4 to 2026.4.1, but I’m running HAOS on an RPi5. I click the button, it says installing, then closes as if nothing happened with the update still there.
I did look in the logs, and for the supervisor log I can see the following:
2026-04-07 20:51:09.587 INFO (MainThread) [supervisor.homeassistant.core] Updating Home Assistant to version 2026.4.1
2026-04-07 20:51:09.587 INFO (MainThread) [supervisor.docker.interface] Updating image ghcr.io/home-assistant/raspberrypi5-64-homeassistant:2026.3.4 to ghcr.io/home-assistant/raspberrypi5-64-homeassistant:2026.4.1

2026-04-07 20:51:58.020 WARNING (MainThread) [supervisor.homeassistant.core] Updating Home Assistant image failed
So I’m thinking it might be a repeat of this issue? It has persisted for a good few hours now though.
Edit: Seems to be someone recently with a similar issue too, but I’ve updated to OS 17.2 with no change.
Edit 2:
Another variation of essentially the same logs, but with a tad more info:

Thanks for the links and info. I will wait and try again later. I don’t see that error in my log but it may have cleared from the log that I can easily see (or search / scroll back).
Hello… I was able to successfully do the update today (next day) so was some quirk of the servers I guess. I think Home Assistant should relay some diagnostics in the GUI and command line if you call for an update and it fails. “Temporary server overload or outage, please try again in in a few hours”.
