Correcting Energy Sums

Correcting Energy data is like whackamole. I correct spikes uaing the Developer Tools then it spikes again later. Is there a way to recalculate easily?

I’ve also tried directly changing things in the sqlite database with similar results.

It would be better to fix the problem Fix your energy sensors so that this does not keep happening.

I’m past that now and that’s why I’m annoyed that this is still happening.

If it is still happening then you are not “past that”. There is still something wrong.

Sorry. I was saying contradicting things. The sensors no longer have spikes–working as expected. The spikes I show in the screenshot are a result of trying to correct data from the Developer Tools. I zero out a spike only for it to show up on a later record.

Can you show the history graph for the sensor when the glitch first occurred?

Use the History panel rather than the more info pop-up, so that you get a plot of actual state data and not 5 minute statistics.

Yeah you have your work cut out for you. That is a lot of records you are going to have to remove. All of these:

That looks like two days of 5 minute statistics which is 576 records to remove.

Assuming you have not changed your recorder keep_days setting you could wait ten days. Then the 5 minute statistics are discarded and you will only have to delete the hourly statistics (only 48 records).

How did that happen?

Normally it is only a spike or two that has to be removed.

The smart plugs started misbehaving after updating FW using the Third Reality app.

Yikes. Yeah wait until your purge keep days has passed (10 days by default) then edit the smaller number of hourly stats.

You can tell when the keep days has passed as the line will be lighter and stepped in the history pane, e.g. I keep 7 days:
