Cover template error when using the HA example **** SOLVED ****

I’m totally confused about this. I currently have a cover template that’s configured the old way. I’m attempting to reconfigure it using the new method as shown in the HA documentation (Template - Home Assistant). To get started I pasted the example from the HA documentation into my configuration.yaml file and got the following error…

I don’t understand why I get this error when I’m using the formatting as described in the documentation. Can anyone explain this for me? Is the documentation incorrect or am I doing something wrong.

Thanks.

**** SOLVED ****
As noted below by ‘Didgeridrew’, this was indeed an bogus error message and the template worked without any problems.

That’s not a real error. The HA extension for Studio Code is not up to date, so it may show errors for “newer” configuration syntax.

I thought that error was being thrown by HA and not my editor. I’ll try ignoring it and see what happens. Thanks.

You could also post that here so maybe someone could fix it…

Home Assistant VSCode/CodeServer extension issues

The only errors HA throws are in the logs. Anything outside that is custom.

This was actually the vscode add-on that I was using but I did post the bug there.
