I have installed 5 of the SwitchBot Blind Tilt controls into HA…all are located in a single location across a row of 5 windows.
They all were automatically discovered in HA, and I have added them to the system.
They are connected to HA, via a Bluetooth proxy.
Question 1: I created a Mushroom Cover Card and can’t seem to get the arrow buttons as I’ve seen in online videos and other postings…I get the slider as seen below. What I would really like to do is have pre-sets…OPEN / CLOSE DOWN…what am I missing???
Question 2: I created a helper GROUP and included all 5 of the SwitchBots…then created an Mushroom Cover Card and picked the group as the entity. When I drag the slider to the midway position, blinds 2, 3, and 5 fire immediately, about 20 seconds later blinds 1 and 4 follow…why am I getting a delay (and it’s always in this order)
Question 3: I created 2 automations for setting the group at a specific position…and I see the same staggered control as I do with the group…I’m assuming once the group is fixed this should follow along.
This is most likely a delay or interference with the Bluetooth signal. Are 1 and 4 further away from your Bluetooth proxy or near other devices with bluetooth?
All 5 of the Blinds are in a row along the same wall…the bluetooth proxy is maybe 5-10 feet away from all of them. The funny thing is Blind 1 which is the closest to the proxy is one of the units that is delayed.
I assume your bluetooth proxy can only handle 3 simultaneous connections (at least when using an ESPHome proxy). Add a second proxy? But not sure if this helps.
I took a look at the SwitchBot app and was able to create a group within (max of 4) that defines one unit as the master, and the other groups members as slaves…so when the master receives the command it is relayed to the other members of the group simultaneously. With the limit of 4 members to a group, I simply created 2 groups one for the outer blinds (1,5) and another for the inner (2,3,4) now I only need to include two blinds in the HA Helper Group…with this setup all blinds work together.
Many thanks to all who offered assistance!!
So with questions 2 and 3 taken care of, anyone have any suggestions for Question 1?
