Made ‘one quick change’ before my coffee - should have known better. I created a history helper with no name. Now listed as ‘unknown statistics’. There doesn’t appear to be a way to change the name or id in the UI. Is there a way? If not, that seems to be a problem. Where is the YAML code for UI created helpers so I can manually fix it?
Addendum: I applied the latest HA core update and it now allowed me to update in the UI. Not sure if it was the update or just the core reload. I still would like to know where history helpers created in the UI are stored.
They are stored in json under .storage folder, it’s not really meant to be user edited though.
Not sure why you couldn’t find it initally, maybe just needed to reload the browser, but you should find it in the Helpers page in the UI for renaming.
Based on some other posts, I had looked in /config/.storage - if it’s there it certainly isn’t obvious. FWIW, it took several HA reloads to able to get the ID and the Name to permanently stick. It’s good now, but I’m not sure what created the mess to begin with except creating a history helper with no name or id.
