I have just upgraded my Proxmox-Server with an external Crucial P3 Plus NVMe in a ORICO hard disk enclosure (Tunderbolt).
With the proxmox integration my Server shows a lot of Service Data sensors inside HA and even my 10 yrs. old intenso HDD is represented by 8 entities. For the Crucial there are only 3 meaningless entities. But there is a lot of Data availabe. You “just” have to install the Crucial “Storage Executive” Software on a Win-System - and only a Win-System. Yeah - cool idea for a Unix-based proxmox-server …
Does anybody have an idea how i can convince the Crucial to show more service data in HA? I have alredy searched integrations, add-ons and HACS without success.
For you and anyone else that’s a Crucial Customer, I would suggest asking the mfgr to look into the works with home assistant program to see if their API would be compatible with HA. https://partner.home-assistant.io/
The more of their customers that request this, the more likely it would happen.
The other way is to get someone to write something which 99% of the time is someone with the hardware or a desire to use the software and has the chops to write a custom Integration. If someone so chooses this can also be a core integration but that takes more work and commitment, There are thousands of core integrations, so it happens, but there are probably more custom ones than that because the entry bar is lower.
