Curated list of recommended hardware?

Hi guys,

I’m looking for advice on how to find the best hardware for home assistant. I’m so fed up with large vendors, their great promises but complete lack of customization and open APIs. Every once in a while I stumble upon hardware gadgets that are really nicely integrated with home assistant, but I find it pretty difficult to find these top gadgets, especially since “home assistant” is not a very unique name in Google searches. So my question - is there like a list of recommended home assistant compatible hardware? Like what is the best device for controlling IR devices, what’s the recommended way to integrate BLE beacons, what’s the best smart speaker that also has home assistant integration (and using unofficial, probably soon won’t work anymore APIs is cheating).

I know of course that those questions are subject for discussion, but still there are other projects and sites around that simply try their best to make objective recommendations.

None that I’ve seen.

Devices listed in the Integrations page are, technically speaking, ‘compatible’ with Home Assistant. However, which devices are ‘best in class’ can depend on one’s requirements.

I just find something on eBay or Amazon and then share here to see if anyone else has had luck with it.
