I’m wondering what the current state of the BMW integration is…
I’ve seen posts that state it’s offline, and others with workarounds that work…sometimes…and others pointing to forks that seem to be stalled.
Can someone point me to what’s working as I’d like to add my car to my HA installation.

I think people are using this fork, it was updated last week.
Personally I’m having duplication issues, but I think that’s my end.
If only there was a search tool option in GitHub where you could sort by date last updated as well as most popular…

I have chased down the rabbit hole for other third party integrations where there have been many forks and abandoned attempts and have found there isn’t a stable version. I sympathize with your challenge. This is my reflection of the challenge you probably face - the community input you sought.
If only there was a way to mark some forks as abandoned so you don’t go down that side track hoping for something that might be.
I’m not a BMW owner myself, so my comment was aimed at your search options, rather than offering you the obvious solution. Sorry to have raised your hackles.

I’ve been following many threads and for me currently I used BMW CarData → MQTT Bridge for many months now to populate the data to Domoticz.
It will populate the BMW data to MQTT.
And now with some magic
I’m able to use HA autodiscovery to create my sensors. It is still work in progress.
Couple of questions…will this work for a vehicle in the US, as I think the other integrations only work with cars in the EU.

Unfortunately, it’s only some European countries at the moment (not even all of Europe). We need to wait for CarData Stream to roll out in the USA, if it ever does. EU companies are generally more open about sharing data with customers than US companies/subsidiaries, and BMW USA essentially operates as a separate company, so it’s not guaranteed that it’ll ever roll out in the USA. 
Were there any updates ? Really missing my BMW in HA..... SO many things are missing, like left my sunroof open and APP doesnt notify 
For the ones that strongly miss to send commands to the car e.g. to turn on the climate through HA automations there is now a "a bit messy" workaround - at least - if you are using iphones or iPads (e.g. as home dashboard screen).
The latest version of the myBMW app allows to create Shortcut automations to turn on the climate of the car without any user interactions. iOS does unfortunately not accept any external trigger for local shortcut automations, so that you cannot use state changes of devices in the Home app. The only way to trigger the automation from external is by reacting to an e-mail or a text message received by the phone.
If you have an e-mail mailbox that support push mails (Gmail does not, iCloud was not working, outlook.com is working!) you can easily create home assistant automations that send e-mails from HA with a specific subject that is triggering a shortcut automation on the iOS device that has the mailbox installed. This is even working if the device is in standby or on the lockscreen. From measurements, it takes approx 5s from the HA automation to be received from the iOS device to trigger the shortcut automation.
I have tested for one week now the use of HA to trigger the shortcut automation on the iPad. So far every single time it has triggered successfuly to turn on the climate.
So - a bit messy - but working rock solid to enable again some kind of control of the car from HA.

Is your ipad anywhere near your vehicle?
The new shortcuts integration from BMW works only with Digital Key Plus. The commands do not go through BMW servers at all, but directly from the phone to the car (via ultra wide band).
So not only it doesn't works for us having vehicles that do not support Digital Key Plus, but it also wouldn't work for those of us where we have an assigned parking spot not anywhere near where we can place an ipad/iphone.
I asked BMW why it wasn't working on my G20 and that's how I found out how the mechanism works:
"We would like to inform you that this new features uses the same technology that the Digital Key Plus is using (Ultra wide band), so it is a requirement for this to work. Unfortunately, your car is not equipped with it so the new Siri Shortcuts feature won’t work ."
No, the ipad is hundert of meters away from the car, as I cannot park it in front of the house and I have a G08 which does not support UWB. The Siri shortcut for the climate functionality works fully remote - as in the app.
Have you used the climate Siri shortcut or another functionality? Maybe the services differs from car to car. On the G08, the myBMW app is offering me only two Siri shortcuts. For the Climate and to open the trunk (which I have not tested).
