Ease Life Camera is an unofficial Home Assistant integration for Ease Life / Blurams / Closeli cloud cameras. These cameras have no local RTSP - video only exists behind the vendor cloud (built into the web player), so this component was created by reverse-engineering the vendor’s web player and cloud API to bring them fully into HA.
Features
- Snapshot + live video — cloud thumbnails plus smooth HLS live stream (720p H.264) with seamless upstream session handover and timestamp repair (~60–100 s vendor cap is stitched automatically)
- PTZ — ease_life.ptz service: left / right / up / down / home
- Speak — ease_life.speak TTS announcements over the camera speaker (currently disabled by default — see Known issues)
- Listen (opt-in) — AAC audio companion track (camera ships G.711, which HA can’t mux; component transcodes)
- Frigate feed — plain ffmpeg-readable HTTP-FLV URL you can point Frigate (or go2rtc) at 24/7, with optional LAN bind + token auth
Requirements
- Home Assistant 2026.x (standard install with the stream integration)
- An Ease Life account with at least one online camera
Installation
- Manual: copy the ease_life folder to /custom_components/ease_life/, restart, then Settings → Devices & Services → Add Integration → Ease Life Camera, and enter your Ease Life email + password.
- HACS: Integrations → ⋯ → Custom repositories → add GitHub - asmsaifs/ease_life: Unofficial Home Assistant custom component for Ease Life / Blurams / Closeli cloud cameras, built by reverse-engineering the vendor web player. Smooth HLS live video (720p H.264) with session handover, cloud snapshots, PTZ service, TTS speak, opt-in AAC audio, and a 24/7 Frigate-ready feed. · GitHub (category Integration), install, restart.
Known issue: Speak is temporarily disabled. Test transmissions left some camera units’ audio pipeline wedged for all clients until a physical reboot, so the service stays registered but refuses with an explanatory error until the talk start/stop handshake is fully understood. PTZ and video are unaffected.
Privacy: credentials are stored in HA’s encrypted config entries and used only against the vendor cloud. No analytics, no third parties.
Unofficial — built from reverse engineering. If the vendor changes their cloud, this can break (it reconnects and recovers automatically where possible).
