Custom dashboard for power display

Hi All,
I’ve just had my Pi crap itself and lost everything - backups were on the Pi - yes I know rookie error - but I’ve got a new one, started using Nabu Casa to back everything up every day and had a lot of help from one of you guys (massive thanks - you know who you are) in getting my power control system working for my solar and battery control.

I’m not a expert - by any means - but the one thing I did manage to do before I lost everything was create a really smart custom made dashboard that showed all my power systems in a really clear way - showing all the connections between my three inverters, two phases, house. battery etc. This dashboard was a clear background with the sensor entities for each of the power values showing up in a circle. I’d got lines connecting all these AND I had images on the screen for each of the inverters , the battery etc - it all fit on a page and displayed well on iPad etc…

But I can’t remember how the hell I did it. I did use picture-element type and state-badge then entered the entity and then used style to position the entity on the page. But when I’ve tried to do this again it doesn’t work - the entity doesn’t show on it’s own or if I use a background the entity fills the entire screen - I’ve tried ChatGPT but it keeps telling me to upload a transparent png file - which I know I didn’t do last time - I may have created a power point slide, saved as a png then uploaded it to the media or www folder that acted as a background - but when I’ve tried to do this again it spits out compilation errors or covers the background the second I try to add a entity without an image. I’m almost certain I used panel layout - and to add entities as buttons just took me a bit of buggering about to get the circles on the lines that were part of the background. My question is does anyone have any suggestions as to how I did it - I’ll add an image of what I had …you will see that the entities where landing on top of the background in little red circles with white interiors - you can see that on the solar image at the top…Just can’t remember how I did it - only thing is I’m sure I didn’t use any special HACS integrations, or transparent images…Any pointers would be appreciated.

Cheers
Andy
