For those of you who remember pinkywafer’s Calendarific integration, it was a very useful tool that let you pull a feed of holidays into Home Assistant and create sensors indicating when they had arrived, very useful for automation.
Unfortunately, it appears to have been abandoned, and no longer works on Home Assistant current releases.
Well, until now.
I’d been keeping a personal fork on life support for a while lest it come back, but acknowledging that that’s probably not going to happen, I’ve just published as a HACS custom repo (and applied for full HACS-hood) my revised version of Calendarific which I’ll be supporting going forward.

0.15 isn’t quite backwards compatible with previous versions, as I’ve revised it to no longer require YAML configuration, to support multiple instances for different regions, to present the configured holidays as a calendar entity as well as individual sensors, and a few other such modernization tweaks. But the sensors still function in the same way, and it’s still the same old Calendarific underneath.
