I picked ap a MW-SC10 recently and wanted to monitor is in HA and integrate it with some other things, like turning on an air freshener after business has been done, etc.
Since it’s a Tuya device, I first tried Tuya Local, but for some reason it wouldn’t give me the litter box device type template (for some reason it was only giving me the options for a door lock or a remote controller). Then I tried LocalTuya, which wouldn’t identify DPs properly, which I assume comes down to LT not supporting protocol versions later v3.3 and the litter box seems to need v3.5.
So… I put together an integration for just this one device:
Current downsides:
- It only supports the SC10. Maybe we could get it working for more models, but I only have the one device to test with.
It still relies on the Tuya cloud, so you need a Tuya Cloud Developer account and have to pull some info from there to get the device to work. Perhaps updating it to operate completely local will be possible. I will do some testing and see what comes out of it.- Local operation works, though setup still relies on Tuya Cloud to find the Device ID and Local Key of the device.

Yes, AI contributed to this. Vibe coding can produce absolute crap, and it can produce completely usable code. It depends on the methods used. If someone wants to use this, it is posted on GitHub for people to review and decide for themselves.
I’m still testing it and some bits need to be filled out (like how Tuya handles the “Bin Full!” notifications), but if anyone else is interested in this it’s posted to Github:
