yes, the second one is for that, add a security margin. My issue with solar (using forecast.solar) is that i have 2 strings oriented differently and with different number of panels, so my generation is hard to predict properly.
EG: a minimum charge value when computing the charge for the next day (which could be zero).

Everything seems to be working fine, i love what you did with the menu.
The only thing i need to figure out is the overall home consumption sensor, i do not have a smart cabinet and basically the total consumption is calculated by HA on the various sources (sun, grid and batteries)
There might be a bug, i am adding my P1 energy import into the sensors, i get the error -Solar forecast sensor must have ‘kWh’ or ‘Wh’ as unit.-
now, the foirecast was previously configured and working, so it seems that the error refers to the wrong input value and both my P1 energy import sensor and solar forecast are correctly in kWh already.
when pressing submit i get the error and the field for the consumption is blanked.
so far i couldn’t find a way to integrate Marstek CT into HA. i am using a homewizard (sucks, too slow) and waiting for a direct to usb P1 cable interface.
Tried with other sensors, readding the solar forecast but it keeps throwing the error. If either solar or total energy sensor are configured is fine, if both are configures it returns the error.
I actually have another issue, mostly due to my company car: i have an plug in hybrid car, but since it’s a company car my charging plug doesn’t report any data to HA, it’s just a black box energy consumer.
I trigger it manually when cost of energy is low or i have solar overproduction. to have almost zero impact on actual home consumption.
because of this if i charge the car my whole forecast is broken.
It would be useful to have a fixed value for home average consumption (eg:15kWh/day) to drive adaptive charging in limit cases like this one (and i honestly have no idea how to overcome this, just waiting to have another provider i guess)

I just start using modbus today.
The batteries Venus E V2 charged this morning fast.
Now grid price in Belgium is below zero.
That means I have to pay to deliver my solar power.
My Huawei sun2000 i can reduce to transformer to 300W.
That is what my house is using when nothing special going on.
But when I start a water cooker now the energy is coming from the grid. Why not from the batteries?
When Marstek was taking care of the zero grid the batteries supplied the energie.
When grid price is going above zero again transformer is back to 5500W. Then batteries can be charged again.
Which firmware is the best to use now with this intergration and Marstek Venus E V2?
I use now v158.1 and have a downgrade ready to v156. Received from Marstek.
What should I do?
