I been using the integration for a while, but have a few problems with it. In the beginning, after some time, the RS485 control mode constantly switched off by itself. This usually happened at night.

Since the implementation of active cell balance, I have had daily notifications that cells could be unstable and need to be balanced. This is no longer since the V2 version. However, now the SOC is no longer 100% fully charged. Most of the time it stops at 68-74% and then does nothing more, although there is enough surplus. Is this a feature, or is there a problem here?

I am trying to understand why the RS485 mode intermittently disconnects. Other users are experiencing this same issue, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the cause.

The notifications thresholds were modified because it appears Marstek ships the batteries with this built-in imbalance, so there was no reason to alert the user if the manufacturer isn't concerned about it.

Regarding the SOC getting stuck at 68% or 74%, this has been resolved in version 2.0.1b3 and later, by allowing the battery to charge until the BMS stops the charge by itself.

Hi, I just installed your integration and I’m amazed by its functions. Nevertheless, by my own fault I found something which I cannot solve. I selected the wrong batterie model in the beginning. Afterwards I changed it via the configurator, but there are still some wrong entities as well as deactivated entities. Can you give me a hint how to properly delete all previous configurations/entities and get the right one into the system?

There is a button to delete the whole battery inside the integration page withing HA. Have you seen it?

Unfortunatly so far, I haven't been able to get my two LILYGO RS485 adapters working with your integration. When I enter the IP address and port, the integration appears to detect them, but the connection ultimately fails and I am returned to the setup screen.

I suspect the issue may be related to my specific setup, as I'm running Home Assistant in a Docker container on Raspberry Pi OS. However, what makes this particularly puzzling is that both RS485 adapters work without any issues with another Home Assistant integration. :thinking:

You have probably correctly diagnosed your problem as being related to Docker and the serial port configuration for both your RS485 Adapters.
Is the app speaking in UART mode or just looking for UDP packets?

Have you tried the Protocol Wizard to help in your troubleshooting?

The Nord Pool integration gives prices per 15 minutes not per hour. Is this a problem? My dynamic pricing is per hour.

I live in Holland and have ANWB Energy. Should I use the Nord Pool intergration or is it better to use Epex Spot?

My bad — I now understand what was causing the issue.

I’m using 2x LILYGO T-CAN485 (ESP32/Arduino boards running ESPHome).
In my setup, they directly read RS485 data and forward it to Home Assistant as sensors.
So in practice, my setup is just acting as a sensor translator.

The Marstek Venus Energy Manager expects a Modbus register server, like an Elfin EW11 or PUSR DR134 (as I understand now).

These are two completely different approaches and not compatible with each other.
So the issue came from my misunderstanding of that difference. :cowboy_hat_face:

Hi, I’m testing your solution with the Venus e3 and have now installed 4 of your updates.

After getting familiar with it, here are a few tips on what to keep in mind for the setup:

  • The current sensor on the meter should be fast and update at most every 3 seconds.
  • If you’re reading sockets with power sensors: Make sure they also update very frequently (<3sec) especially for the integration of PV units.

I replaced all the sockets from a very common local provider (AVM / FRITZ!Box) because they’re simply too slow for your excellent solution.

I installed the integration for my Venus A but it doesn't work as aspected. The first day (yesterday) it seemed to work until about 18.00. Then it started to export al the energy downto the minimu SOC. Today it was still at minimum SOC. In the morning (with plenty of solar) it said loading would be delayed untill 13.30 but nothing happened this afternoon. I started loading via the Marstek app until the battery was full. I then restarted the integration and again it started to export at maximum rate.

I noticed in the Energy Today graph that the Grid exported does not change. It's been 0 allday although I exported about 17 kWh according to the built-in HA energy dashboard. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, i’m using your integration (v2.04). It works very well on my HA(latest version) in a docker on my Synology NAS. The only thing I encountered is that when the battery is full at 100% soc, and the soc goes down over time a bit it won’t start charging the battery. When I don’t use your integration I’m used to it starting charging to 100% after getting unloaded to 98%. Could you maybe look into this and try to implement that in a future update?

I have installed today this integration, but i have 2 issues:

  • I cannot download the dashboard to monitor and control my Venus E3.0 batteries, apperently the link cannot be accessed from the github page and it also not
  • I saw that the integration was discharging my batteries at 2500w.

Please provide me a link to download the dashboard

The dashboard doesn’t have a separate installation link — it’s installed automatically when you add the integration. Are you installing the integration through HACS, or manually by downloading the repository?

Also, regarding the 2500W discharge issue, please install the latest beta version.

I have downloaded the zip from the github, placed the blueprints in the automation folder and installed the MVEM from HACS some weeks ago. After that i installed the integration which i could configure my batteries and so on. According to the documentation the dashboard should be visible in the bar. How can i install the beta version ?

I see that i had a really old version 1.7.4, i just download 2.0.3 and see if this working now

I have installed now the latest pre-release version, and now it is working good. But the PID state started with stable, but sometimes report sluggisch. The PID is set to balanced. Can you explain which setting will be better in which situation ?

Hello all,

I have setup delayed solar charge. Set the SOC till 80% and an delay for 2 hours the rest should be charged till 100 and put the default solar forecast as an sensor. I see now that the setpoint has been reached and charging is pauses and works as expected. The only thing i see solar charge delay to 10:47. Does this mean that it will wait more the 10 hours and 47minutes. In that case there is no sun anymore. What i expected is that it will wait for 2 hours after reaching the set point. Am it missing something ?

Hey, nice integration! I use it just for loading my two batteries when there is sun and the possibility for peak shaving. So no loading from the net. What I also would like is that I can unload the batteries in for example the morning if the solcast prediction for my home is for example above 10 kw for that day. This is especially for the summer when I cannot use all the capacity of the batteries. Then I am selling my energy in the most expensive hours and maximize the use of my batteries. I made an automatisation in Home assistant but it doesn't work yet

I use your integration with 3 Marstek Venus E V3, german dynamic prices and 1,6k pv. It runs like a clockwork. Great work.
