Hi everyone,
I have published an unofficial Home Assistant custom integration for the Thermia Calibra Cool 7 BW / Genesis heat pump.
The integration communicates locally through Modbus TCP and uses Home Assistant’s native shared Modbus layer. Connections with identical settings are pooled and requests are serialized, avoiding competing Modbus clients.
Current features
- temperature, compressor, circulation-pump and operating-hour sensors
- active alarm count and anti-legionella warning
- heating, hot-water, anti-legionella and passive-cooling operating status
- controls for heating, passive cooling, tap water and anti-legionella
- hot-water boost
- comfort-wheel and hot-water temperature settings
- BMS outdoor temperature and selected outdoor-temperature source
- local polling every 30 seconds
Tested configuration
The integration is currently developed and tested on a Thermia Calibra Cool 7 BW / Genesis. Other Thermia models may use different registers and are not yet confirmed to work. Feedback and test results from owners of other Calibra models are very welcome.
Requirements:
- Home Assistant 2026.9.0 or newer
- Modbus TCP enabled on the heat pump
- network access from Home Assistant to the heat pump
- the heat pump’s IP address, Modbus TCP port and unit ID
Installation through HACS
Until the integration is included in the default HACS catalogue:
- Open HACS in Home Assistant.
- Open the top-right menu and choose Custom repositories.
- Add
https://github.com/renaatdb/thermia-calibra. - Select Integration as the type.
- Find Thermia Calibra Cool 7 BW, download it and restart Home Assistant.
- Go to Settings → Devices & services → Add integration and search for Thermia Calibra Cool 7 BW.

Please report problems or compatibility results through GitHub Issues. Include the Home Assistant version, heat-pump model, integration version and relevant log lines, but never include passwords, tokens or other secrets.
This is an independent community project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Thermia. The integration contains writable controls, so verify register compatibility before using it with another Thermia model and keep the heat pump’s own safety controls enabled.
