Hello friends!
My wife and I have had the same conversation about how thermostats work, how she can read the thermostat, and how she can change the thermostat.
I do want to clarify, this conversation is ONLY related to when our thermostat is on Heat & Cool mode. She has no issues when it’s only on Cool or only on Heat mode.
She’s not a tech expert by any means, but she’s not a tech idiot either.
However, no matter how many times I have explained how when on Heat & Cool mode, you have to set the temperature when to turn on the heater, and when to turn on the air conditioning.
So I challenged myself to create an easier to use thermostat for Home Assistant where she’d only need to push 1 button and everything else would be handled behind the scenes.
I’ve just finished the design layout using Adobe Illustrator, and will build it using Custom Button Card & Automations next.
Before I do that, I wanted to get some feedback and thoughts on the designs I have created so far.
So please, if you don’t mind, let me know your thoughts on what I have put together before.
