I have a Daikin BRP15B61 which is working great with the Daikin integration, apart from one little issue. A few times a week it is turning ON the A/C at midnight! I was only using the integration to manually drive the A/C as I have timers set in the A/C unit itself (they run from 0530-0700 everyday). The first couple of times I woke up at 2am or something and thought I'd somehow turned it on earlier and forgot to turn it off, but when I looked I could see in the Activity log it was turning on by itself...
No idea why on some nights it's turning on the A/C at midnight, and I've had to create an automation that looks for the A/C turning on between 0000-0500 and then turns it OFF!
OK, that’s interesting. I’m relatively new to HA.. this is all Activity shows.. Obviously “Stupid AC” is my automation.. How do I figure out where it’s being triggered from?
But the only automation for the AC is the one I created to turn it off - and that’s working fine. There’s nothing else in HA that touches the AC. I need to figure out what could be turning the AC on at midnight.
The only access is the Daikin app, and the HA integration. Before installing the integration I just used the app (and the physical wall panel), and never once did the AC turn it self on at midnight for no reason. It makes no sense to me that the integration should be playing games like this, so I’m going to remove it and go back to the app and physical panel. If I can’t trust an integration to not play games it’s not worth the hassle.
There was nothing set in the app. All I ever had on the device itself was a morning schedule. I tripled-checked that and know it’s right - 0530-0700 every day - simple. I never had an issue until I setup the Daikin integration. I’ve disabled it now so will see what happens.
How do I figure out where it’s being triggered from?
