Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a new/updated custom integration Iβve built to bring danish Flagdays(flagdage) into Home Assistant! Whether you live in Denmark, have Danish roots, or just love the tradition of the Dannebrog, this integration helps you track and automate your smart home around these special days.
This version is based on J-Lindvigs/FlagDays_DK and totally redesigned.
Features
- Official Flag Days: Tracks all state-approved flag days issued by the Danish Ministry of Justice, including royal birthdays, national memorial days, and changing Christian holidays (likeCustom Flag Days: Easter or Good Friday)
- :Flag Rules Included: The integration provides attributes showing whether the flag should be at full mast (fuldmast) or half-mast (halvmast, e.g., on Good Friday or April 9th until noon).
- Custom Flag Days: You can easily configure your own private flag days (birthdays, anniversaries, or local events) directly within the integration settings.
What can you do with it?
You can use the sensors to automate your smart home, for example:Send a notification in the morning: "Today is a flag day: [Occasion]!"Illuminate your smart outdoor lights in Red and White on flag days.Toggle a dashboard element or smart flagpole dynamically based on the current flag rules.
Installation (HACS Custom Repository)
Since this integration is not yet in the HACS default store, you can install it instantly by adding it as a Custom Repository:
- Open HACS in your Home Assistant sidebar.
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Custom repositories.
- Paste the URL of the repository: https://github.com/callerpj/flagdage_dk
- Select Integration as the category and click Add.
- Find flagdage_dk in HACS, click Download, and restart Home Assistant.
- Go to Settings β Devices & Services β Add Integration and search for βflagdage_dkβ.
- The following Config flow is easy to understand
