My music collection is from the 90’s, the days of Napster and MP3 sharing over screachy 56K modems… so i’ve got a lot of work to get it up to scratch.
However… I made changes yesterday afternoon and the HA overnight backup this morning, doesn’t actually have that work in it. The files are actually from early yesterday afternoon before I did the work.
Can we not consider a backup at a time… to be a backup at a time? What does this mean for ad-hock backups? Grateful for insight into why this works this way so I can alter my expectations.
EDIT - It appears that there is a WAL file which is not folded into the database at the time of backup. Whether it should be, is a matter of academic thought as long as the practical issue of it being replayed in at the time of restore from backup, is safe.
