DB continuity

Hi,

3 days ago I changed my DB backend to MariaDB, in the mistaken belief that I can get better long-time data stability that way.
I didn’t even attempt to migrate any data, just added a new DB URL in the config file.

After reading some more, I figured I that I would go back to sqlite. I don’t care for the last 3 days of data, so I just commented out the new DB url from the config file, assuming that I can just keep using my old sqlite DB, which will now have a 3-day hole in it.

But that was not what happened; apparently I have a brand new DB now, with no previous data.

Why is that? And how do I get access to my previous data?
(I mean, it is in the same sqlite db, so no migration should be necessary, why hide it?)

Thank you for explaining.

Hello csillag,

You probably erased it as there was 3 days where it was not used.
Restore a backup from before the switch and it will resume with a data gap.

What do you mean I erased it? I didn’t do anything like that intentionally. Do you mean that there is a mechanism that automatically removes stuff that I haven’t touched for a few days. Sounds dangerous to me…
