Deconz DIY remote?

anyone that have made a 5 or 8 botton remote that works with deconz/phoscon?

i have looked at freepad but its said not to work with deconz, and the documentation is also mostly russian so i dont understand it

sadly does not work with deconz only zigbee2mqtt, DIYRuZ DiY Customisable 8/12/20 Button Keypad (FreePad) Zigbee compatibility

That page does not say that is does not work with deconz, it says

If the device is following Zigbee standards it is possible it will work with other gateway solutions, it is just not confirmed as working yet!

yeah i know, but if not confirmed i consider it as a no

trouble is that there is no easy and clear info on how to flash firmware, even if i managed that (doubt it highly since i dont read russian) i might end up with something that does not work in deconz/phoscon

The github page of freepad is in english and mentions it is supported in deconz.

yep it says so, and yet if you ask the man behind that page he says:

“Afaik it’s supported by dezonz”

so its not 100% sure… not yet anyways

sure enough, he now says its not supported

and its removed from GitHub - diyruz/freepad: FreePad

Why not use the ptvo firmware? https://ptvo.info/

been in my mind also, but not supported either

Then again

yep… and that was why i asked, ie to me sure before i invested money

sadly at 44 years old its not “fun” just to throw money at things that might not work

Maybe the small investment in a zigbee2mqtt supported coordinator might be a better investment?

i would but i’m fully invested in deconz comp. lights allready. only need 10 more bulb’s to complete the house and 2 4 button remotes, wanted to add some 8 button ones near bed and computer

but i guess i can just have 2 4 buttons ones to make up for 1 with 8 buttons

Why not use one of the friends of hue switches, they are supported by deconz, have 4 buttons or six actually as you can press 2 at once. They support short and long press so you can basically configure 12 actions to 1 switch. And they do not use batteries, which is another great feature.

Of course all those could be shifted to z2m.
