Default dashboard question - hide energy

Using the default automatic dashboard, there is a setting to ‘show/hide energy’ however, I recently integrated a few of the HS300 power strips, and all of the PS energy entities (current/consumption/voltage) continue to display in the default dash, even though ‘hide energy’ is toggled on.

I had to end up going through each of the PS (child plug) sensors and making them hidden, so they do not add the 3x 6 plugs + 3x total sensors with every PS.

This is on top of the switch entities for the plugs+strip (on/off). That is a lot of entities that a single power strip adds to the dash.

Having 3 powerstrips, that was a lot of clicking back and forth.

I am also not looking forward to having to go through the same thing any time a new PS is added.

Am I doing it wrong, or should the energy option be hiding these (power) entities and is failing to do so?

I believe that toggle only influences the creation of the energy-distribution card. It doesn’t have anything to do with whether or not specific entities get added to other entities cards.

Hmm, ok yes I see the energy card show/hide accordingly on the default dash, although that seems like that could/should be included with the areas (cards) lists of visible/hidden instead.

That is unfortunate if it doesn’t also hide energy entities.
