I recently got a tablet that I wanted to use as a “HA” display on my wall. I created a new user for it and a new view that is more tailored for it. I have about 10 views. Whenever I close and open HA, the first view is always shown. That has been fine before but not I wanted the tablet to default to the 10 view instead. I did find the option to not show views for specific users. But the problem with that is that I still want to be able to access the other views on my tablet, I just want to change the default one.
You can select which dashboard you want to show as a default for the tablet/user in the profile settings of the app or a browser, but (without major trickery) it will always default to the first view of the dashboard.
Create a dashboard with your customized view in the first/left-most position and set it as the default dashboard in the ‘Browser Settings’ of the profile section of that user on the app.
Correct!
You can only see the dashboards.
That’s why I suggested to create a new dashboard and add your customized tablet view to it - keep it in the leftmost place if you’re adding new views to it.
Then pick the new dashboard from the dropdown.
Ok but since I still want to use my other views by simply swiping right and left, I would had to copy all those as well and then try to keep them in sync whenever I change something.
An option to conside is to use Browser Mod using a Default action with browser_mod.navigate for the device/user/global.
You could use this card, which allows you to create the view in one dashboard and then display it in multiple others:
New Custom Card: Embedded View Card – Embed any view into another - Share your Projects! / Dashboards & Frontend - Home Assistant Community
