Delay switching on lights, only if turned off 3 seconds ago

Hi all,

I have an interesting problem. In two of my rooms, I have lightbulbs that dim when the switch is toggled off/on in quick succession. Unfortunately as a result, sometimes when someone walks in the room, the timing is occasionally perfect that the lights come off, then turn on again with the motion sensor. Dimming the bulbs.

Is there a way to delay an “on” command by 2-3 seconds if the light was only just turned off in the last 3 seconds as well? I realise that will delay the lights coming on, but it will stop the bulbs dimming themselves as well.

Thanks!@!!!

add a 3-5 second duration to the motion trigger, this means there must be that duration of motion before the action happens.

yep but this can also delay the lights to turn on 5 second is quite a lot… I did had a similar issue and resolved it with fixed values for the brightens at time of the day. So if the light is On and I’m in that room it will dim at the change of time afternoon to evening for example, If I re-enter in the room the light will turn on with the preset dimming value… there is also a delay setting in the automation automations actions that you can search when you type “delay”… editing the automation or script.
