Detect a specific person without camera or personal devices

Hi, I’m not sure if this is the right place, but I don’t know where else to put it.

I want to detect individual persons in a room without the need for a camera or wearing a device like a smartphone or smartwatch.

Usually I only need to detect only one person at a time in a room (like a bathroom). I want to be able to trigger an automation if a specific person (like me) is in this room and don’t trigger if e.g. my wife is entering the room, without pressing a button, hold my smartphone over a NFC tag, wait for a Bluetooth connection or similar.

I can try to adjust a motion sensor to just detect motions above a specific hight because I’m taller than my wife, but I think this is difficult to set up, not really reliable and only works in this situation.

And I don’t want to install cameras in a bathroom, even if it’s a diy camera and I know what happens to the images.

Is this possible with the new Aqara presence detector or do you have any other idea?

I’m not aware of anything on the market that will do that easily.

Cameras or detecting a device are the only reliable way.

Weight sensors along with height sensors will probably allow you to make reasonable guesses, as long as people aren’t carrying anything heavy and their weight+height are all sufficiently different.

This will be next to impossible without some kind of camera or room tracker device. Sorry. It’s just the state of technology.

Yes there is. Aquara FP2.

Testing it for a month now. Very accurate if there are humans only.
Cats, dogs, moving ventilators, etc are detected as well…

Sorry, didn’t read your post completely
