Determining Actual Home Power Consumption with Solar

Hi everyone,

I have a sensor that displays my electricity meter, and another one that shows me the kWh production from my solar panels.

My electricity meter shows my current consumption in watts. When my solar panels produce more power than I consume, the meter shows a negative value. The problem is: I don’t know how much power my house is actually using. What’s the best way to determine my actual power consumption? Do I need a sensor that subtracts the generated solar watts from my electricity meter’s watt reading?
In the past I could look at the consumption and knew exactly what I was consuming. Now I have often e.g. -4202 W. If my solar is creating 5000 W, I assume I have ~ 800 W of consumption. Whats the best way handling this?

Yes substracting is the only way of your solar system doesnt calculates that itself.
