Device to display a gauge-type status?

Hi, we have an old electrical system that caps at roughly 3 kW. I would like to get a device that would show when we’re reaching this limit, so we don’t inadvertently trip the breakers by like turning on the washing machine or coffee pot.

I was thinking something like four LEDs from green to orange to red, a semicircle gauge with needle, or anything like that. Preferably with zigbee but wifi is fine.

How would you go about this? Any ideas welcome. Redoing the electricals is not an option right now. Thanks!

How about an old/cheap phone running the HA app and a single dashboard showing a gauge card? I used to do this with the Alarmo keypad so that I could have it mounted next to the door.

You could use something like this with an ESP

This is interesting, thanks! I have a couple of unused ESP32’s laying around.

Thank you, I’d like something even simpler

I would buy a small picture frame and have this inside, and the ESP one the back

Even better! I have just ordered the led ring  thanks!

Yeah but 1) I don’t want another permanently charging phone in the kitchen 2) the led thing is much more elegant
