So, what is a radius for your Home zone - is it less then the point described by “geocoded_location”?
If yes - I propose you to create an issue on Github and post a link to it here.
Yes, home zone is a small radius but my current location is about 6 miles outside
Great. Could you place latitude & longitude (attrs of device_tracker) on a map (Google Earth) and see - where are you? Is it home or this “6 miles” point?
The attributes of device tracker place me at home.
The attributes of geolocation place me outside home zone.
Definitely an issue for Github.
Something is changed about these gps coords. Got the same ‘delay’ suddenly on 2 android phones on my side. Have a topic up as well. I saw the ‘geolocation’ with certain streetnames correctly say 10 km outside of my home. The ‘device-tracker’ of the phone still showed ‘Home’.
Maybe I need to test using the geolocation to trigger automations rather than device_tracker.
Shame, it’s a number of editing I need to do though.
I do not trust trackers based on Companion App at all.
Do not use them in automations.
Just keep them for tests.
Prefer using Life360, Traccar.
Tried on a second Android phone, tracker not working on that either, so must be an issue in the HA companion app or OS on my pi that’s appeared in one of the latest updates.
Really frustrating as Home Assistant is worthless to me without this feature.
Cracked it!
In the setting within companion app, one of the updates had disabled the location sensor. Re-enabled and all working again.
This just happened to me. Trackers stopped working in HA but geocode is fine. Where did you find the setting to fix this?? I see nothing in the phone app to change! Thanks!
