Device Tracker showing unknown devices

I have two different installations of Home Assistant in two different houses. One uses the DD-WRT component and the other uses Nmap. I am seeing the same thing on both installations.

There are one or two devices on each installation that have started appearing for me. I do not recognize the MAC addresses. In all cases, they randomly appear “Home”. According to the logs, they are always home for exactly 4 mins. I built an automation to run a full mapping of my network when these devices appear (to see if they are actually on the network.) The couple of maps I have received since setting up the automation do not show the devices in the map. Based on MAC address, the devices appear to be phones (2 Apples and 1 HTC).

Does anyone understand what is happening here? My current theory is that one of my neighbors is walking by my house and their phone attempts to connect to my network which is then registering the device in known_devices.yaml. For some reason, 4 mins is the amount of time that Home Assistant shows the device as home, even if it was only an attempt to connect. Can anyone confirm? Is this the expected/designed behavior?

I am using the bluetooth device tracking, and have seen a few stray devices show up. Mainly from the neighbor walking by the house. I leave them in the known_devices file and just set tracking to false.
